All Courses

NB the course is not running this term but if you are interested in doing a future course with Lorraine please email carole.heselton@verulam.herts.sch.uk to express your interest.

The emphasis will be on experimentation and during the first few weeks you will develop your skills in printed, stitched and mixed media textiles.  We will use traditional textile materials as well as more usual fabrics, including plastic, focusing on the design process as well as the development of skills.  You will then produce a finished sketchbook cover. All materials will be provided.

The course leader is Lorraine Hume who trained in print and creative embroidery textiles and has taught and worked in further education for over 20 years.  Lorraine's own work combines printed surfaces and mixed media with hand and machine embroidery.

"My mum and I came to Anita's class as a Christmas treat. We both came away with beautiful wreaths and were so proud of what we had achieved with Anita's brilliant direction. Attending Anita's Christmas class could easily become a new tradition for the two of us. A perfect evening to bring in some Christmas cheer, plus you come away with a wonderful homemade decoration." "Just wanted to thank you for being the coordinator behind this – it was a fabulous evening." PM

"The flower arranging courses held at Sandringham School are a must for any 'want-to-be' flower arranger as I was! I attended the Christmas Flowers in December 2011 and was hooked. Anita is a delight, she tailors each session to suit the season so all arrangements are so 'this season'. I have really enjoyed covering Christmas, Spring, Autumn and Summer flowers with Anita and now have the confidence and knowledge to create arrangements for my home." AS
