This course is aimed at year 5 and 6 children who wish to develop their coding skills above and beyond what they are already studying in the primary school curriculum.  It will start on the assumption that they have no text-based coding.

The children will explore Python, Lua, C# and more, learning over time to write applications using familiar forms, buttons, menus and text boxes.

Although the club has started it is still possible to join as the children work at their own pace with the support of the teacher and other students. If  your child would like a free taster session,  please email carole.heselton@verulam.herts.sch.uk or call 01727 754113 to reserve a place.

The club is taught by Graham Bridge, an Old Verulamian.  He is currently a Stemnet Ambassador and Codeclub volunteer.

Wild Blue Yonder

There will be inspiring prompts and triggers to send our imaginations in different directions. Each session will also contain clear teaching on a specific writing technique.  There will often be a chance to write and review each other's writing during the session.

We are a friendly and supportive group and welcome new joiners.

Taught by local award-winning, agented writer, Clare Hobba. Suitable both for beginners and those with more experience.

Two of our authors have been published.  Congratulations to K A Hitchins, one of our creative writing group, who has a second novel out now which developed from a creative exercise at one of our sessions.  For more information about her work, visit https://www.amazon.co.uk/Key-All-Kathryn-Hitchins/dp/190972856X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1473409883&sr=1-1&keywords=the+key+of+all+unknown
